Most handicap equipment equipped vehicles have transmission interlocks installed. Ensure that the lift equipment is off, the handicap doors are closed and the park brake is off. If the vehicle still will not shift the interlock can be temporarily disabled by placing the key in the “RUN” position, shift the indicator to “N”, start the vehicle and move the indicator to “D”.
On most vehicles the electronic controls are located above the driver or passenger seats in easily accessible consoles. On Odyssey XL models the controls are located in the driver seat console. 110V controls on MPV vehicles varies, but are consistently in the overhead above the driver.
A: Body to chassis integration connections are called out in every schematics package. They can be found on almost all products, under the floor in the area that the cab and body meet, generally on the driver side.
A: Both body and chassis electrical systems have fuse panels. Reference the chassis owner’s manual for chassis fuses. The body printed circuit boards are equipped with GREEN and RED LED lights to indicate good and bad fuses. Once you have located the electronics controls look for a RED LED light. You can also pull each fuse individually or test with a 12V test light on each side of the fuse.
Recently produced lifts have a separate ON/OFF switch on the base of the control box on the lift. Both that switch and the control switch on the driver console should be on, the park brake set, and the lift doors fully open to allow the lift to deploy. Also the “Fold” and “Up” buttons should be pushed on the lift control to ensure the Hydraulic switch is active before the lift will deploy.
First ensure the center dome, left dome and right dome switches are not switched on the console. With door closed the lights are switched in the control arms above the door. Remove the door mechanism cover and adjust (or replace) the switch on the control arm.
Open both latched and resecure the window by having someone apply pressure to both sides. Ensure the latch catches the back-side of the latch flange and retest.
PA systems have a “GAIN” knob on the front side. Turn the knob down to reduce the feedback through the system.
The front passenger entrance door can be manually operated by turning the handle above the system downward and pushing out on the door. The hatches are released by turning the red handle and pushing outward. All marked egress windows with push outward by turning both handles. NOTE: The egress opening are for emergency only and should not be frequently used outside of inspection.
