What’s your warranty?

The standard warranty is 4 years or 50,000 miles on Most components with the exception of the Cage which is 5 years of 100,000 miles. See Warranty section for full description under Customer Service and Warranty information.

What is lead time from order date?

Lead Times vary but a general rule of thumb is 8 - 11 weeks.

Can we buy direct?

We utilize 35 bus distributors to sell and service our products. Without our distributors we would not be able to properly service and warrant our products plus local distributors will know your needs better than from the factory.

What other distributors can we call?

We recommend that you buy from your local Distributor to insure proper service and attention to your needs.

Do I need a CDL?

In most states if your Bus carries 15 or less people including the driver you do not need a CDL. Your local Distributor will know what licenses you will need.

What is the difference between wheel chair L track and wheel chair L track Pocket and what are the benefits of L Track pockets

L Track refers to the mounting track the restraint systems utilize to tie the belts to the floor. L Track Pockets enclose and cover the tracks to keep them clean and provide a smooth floor.

If you have a moveable luggage wall do you need to have an escape hatch?

All vehicles that are 10,000 GVW and Higher must a roof escape hatch if the rear door or emergency egress window is blocked.

When is a standee marker necessary?

Vehicles that are used in a commercial application and are subject to Department of Transportation standards must have a line designating the furthest forward position that an occupant can stand while the vehicle is in motion. Any step openings or wheel chair lift opening may not have an occupant standing next to while the vehicle is in motion.

Can you purchase Top T sliders as egress windows?

Yes, you may order egress windows with top t sliders but they must be ordered at the same time the bus is first ordered.

Are there any restrictions to a front lift door?

The same specifications for a rear lift applies to a front door lift which is positioned behind the entrance door and must have a 200” wheel base.

What are the restrictions, if any on a UVL door?

The same specifications for a rear lift applies to a UVL in a step lift but must have a 200” Wheel Base and an in body entrance door (Cab will have two doors and driver co-pilot seats.

How do I figure out what size a/c system I need?

There are many factors that go into selecting the proper Air conditioning systems. Your local distributor will look at the applications you are running and determine the proper system.

Where do I find the vehicle data needed for service?

The vehicle identification number, model and vehicle numbers are all located in the driver door jam.

How do I get my vehicle serviced?

Contact the selling distributor with vehicle data and problem description for service. If you do not know the selling distributor or are not the original owner, call our Customer Care Hotline at 877-4-BUSAID and we will help you locate a service facility in your area.

Where do I locate my owner’s manual?

The owner’s manual is included in the owner data packet shipped with the vehicle. A copy can also be obtained by the selling distributor or available by contacting our Customer Care Hotline at 877-4-BUSAID.

My vehicle is stuck in park and won’t move.

Most handicap equipment equipped vehicles have transmission interlocks installed. Ensure that the lift equipment is off, the handicap doors are closed and the park brake is off. If the vehicle still will not shift the interlock can be temporarily disabled by placing the key in the “RUN” position, shift the indicator to “N”, start the vehicle and move the indicator to “D”.

Where do I find my vehicles body electronic controls?

On most vehicles the electronic controls are located above the driver or passenger seats in easily accessible consoles. On Odyssey XL models the controls are located in the driver seat console. 110V controls on MPV vehicles varies, but are consistently in the overhead above the driver.

How do I access the body/chassis integration connections?

A: Body to chassis integration connections are called out in every schematics package. They can be found on almost all products, under the floor in the area that the cab and body meet, generally on the driver side.

How do I know if I have a fuse blown out or not?

A: Both body and chassis electrical systems have fuse panels. Reference the chassis owner’s manual for chassis fuses. The body printed circuit boards are equipped with GREEN and RED LED lights to indicate good and bad fuses. Once you have located the electronics controls look for a RED LED light. You can also pull each fuse individually or test with a 12V test light on each side of the fuse.

Q: I can’t get my WC lift to deploy.

Recently produced lifts have a separate ON/OFF switch on the base of the control box on the lift. Both that switch and the control switch on the driver console should be on, the park brake set, and the lift doors fully open to allow the lift to deploy. Also the “Fold” and “Up” buttons should be pushed on the lift control to ensure the Hydraulic switch is active before the lift will deploy.

My door is closed but my interior lights are still on.

First ensure the center dome, left dome and right dome switches are not switched on the console. With door closed the lights are switched in the control arms above the door. Remove the door mechanism cover and adjust (or replace) the switch on the control arm.

My Egress windows are rattling or don’t seam closed.

Open both latched and resecure the window by having someone apply pressure to both sides. Ensure the latch catches the back-side of the latch flange and retest.

My PA system whines with the engine or squelches at times.

PA systems have a “GAIN” knob on the front side. Turn the knob down to reduce the feedback through the system.

How do I get passengers out of the vehicle with no power?

The front passenger entrance door can be manually operated by turning the handle above the system downward and pushing out on the door. The hatches are released by turning the red handle and pushing outward. All marked egress windows with push outward by turning both handles. NOTE: The egress opening are for emergency only and should not be frequently used outside of inspection.
